Kirklees, Hudderfield

Competition stage entry for the creation of approximately 550 homes under the PFI initiative over 31 sites in the Kirklees area. Many of the sites were deemed ‘undevelopable’ under normal circumstances and bespoke and innovative solutions were required to deal with varying site constraints.

A blend of traditional materials and elements and contemporary forms was developed to provide a new language for social housing in the area.
